At the moment, getting promoted to the PL buys you another 5 years in the Championship

At best, you get the joy of a Top 6 scalp on the way down like when we beat Man City 3-2 with a squad full of injuries.

Mostly, it's a joyless experience and the journey (winning the Championship or a Play Off final) is more exciting and enjoyable than the reward. Without going up though, we're more likely to see League One.

The current situation surely has to collapse on itself eventually though. If you're a Premier League side, I suppose there is more chance of investment so every time we go up, we're putting ourselves in the shop window I suppose.
