Not sure what "never fully appreciated" means... doesn't that jsut mean a

lot of people don't like/love his music now? I can certainly appreciate his older stuff but I've not heard anything recently or in the recent past that has grabbed me. When he dies I'm pretty certain that "appreciation" will primarily be around what he did back in the day with The Jam and The Style Council, and rightly so but I don't foresee a rush to re-issue any of the solo albums. I think artist trajectories generally go to niche/groundbed audience in their later years. Only the true greats (Bowie, Dylan, Springsteen etc) manage to maintain a quality of output that keeps them in the public eye... in the case of Bowie, even after his death.
