Oldham finished 5th in the National League and got promoted. And almost

got beaten to it by 7th placed Southend.

York city were not promoted despite finishing 23 points ahead of Oldham, and 28 ahead of Southend.

That is absolutely ridiculous. If you're only going to promote two then have no playoffs. Top two only. And if you insist on playoffs, then keep it to 4 teams max.
