Always remember him scoring (against Bristol City by coincidence) in a come back win (3-2) after John Galley (Bristol equivalent CF) had put them two up. I think it was the same day Colchester beat the then mighty Leeds in the FA Cup but I is well old grandad innit so probably wrong.
