Ah, you've forgotten various important facts

Such as the need to mix Prudence into your Ambition.

And the need to have Patience which is Infinite.

And of course the fact that getting promoted gave us the handicap of all these parachute payments, which make our finances very complicated, whereas Coventry didn't get promoted, don't have any parachute payments and therefore have nice simple finances which enable them to make good purchases.
