my perception of test matches like this was to give players time at the crease or bowlers a decent amount of overs to blow away the cobwebs before the more sterner test of India

Given the good start perhaps Pope should have retired or thrown his wicked once he reached his 100 and i see nothing to be gained by Pope going to the crease tomorrow
