He says there was no conversation yet talks about what he is worth which kind of suggests the club did talk directly to his reps and the offer was not acceptable.

IMHO he is being totally disingenuous while trying to paint the club in a bad light.
Not a great look.

The club could easily say "he wasnt worth what he wanted based on stats alone"
But Clubs normally take the higher ground in this kind of stuff
