But even though we won, that game provided a real warning about how it could go next season. Not sure how many times we’ve said it, but take 2-4 of our best players out without equal replacement, and this squad is going down, no question.

If I’m honest, I can’t work out why a quality manager would be interested in us. Next season could be a s**t show, and if I was them I’d be so worried about having a massive blot on my record. When people say things like “Cooper? Oh no I don’t want him” I just wonder who they think we are currently capable of attracting.

Knapper simply has to deliver serious reinforcement and the right manager, or I think mid table is the absolute peak I expect. My expectations for next season are well and truly managed.
