As for wether it will work the answer is unlikely to be a simple yes of no. I can't see it working for all countries but some nations such as Taiwan, for obvious security reasons, are already falling in line.

For me the article just opened my eyes that this is not just about economic issues which most people are fixated on, but to try and understand his actions you need to consider security and political elements.

Deindustrialisation of the US is a major driving force behind these actions for political and military reasons not just economic. Biden tried to resolve it with subsidies which drove up the national depth, the orgnge one is trying a cruder and belligerent approach which suits his personality.
