First half of the season we did, in patches, look genuinely excellent going forward

It was exciting to watch and games were something to look forward to which I'd kind of forgotten a bit under deansmith/Wagner.

We all pick on the CBs a bit and with good reason but so much of what happens there is because there's no proper defensive midfielder screening/breaking up play in front/providing an easy out ball.

I thought the Baggies game was less fun to watch but also a recognition that we need to curb our enthusiasm a tad the other end of the pitch and focus on not shipping so many f**king stupid goals.

Ideally, we'd not ship f**king stupid goals and also play forward like we did in the first half of this term.

I still don't really buy into 4-3-3 for us, you know. 4-2-3-1 is a little bit more forgiving but also recognises the kinds of players we're likely to have (growing through us to bigger clubs, rather than oven-ready).

I said JHT basically had a pass this season and I still hold to that. I think we do need to see significant "better" by mid-late November though. I am not at the point where I want a change yet but if we do change it needs to be early enough to make a differerence i.e. Christmas time or so.

Another pivotal summer ahead.
