affects the old rule just as much.
If you can't tell when people are level you can't tell when they're behind either.
The problem is that is so difficult to judge the players relative positions because:
1) it is very difficult for the lino to be exactly in line
2) it is hard to watch both the players' positions AND the exact moment the ball is played forward at the same time (esp. for long balls)
These are the key problems and the new rules make the situation no better or worse, they simply favour the attacker more (as they should)
