You are absolutely correct.

But, much as it pains me to say, GOBB has a point too. The media are so anti anything left of centre (and Labour are currently far from that!) that they crucify anyone suggesting anything remotely progressive. I think Labour were hugely caught out by the media reaction once elected. The run up to the election had been very softball. Once elected, suddenly the media were looking for anything to hit them with. Fully disclosed and permitted glasses, suits, tickets etc.
