A sluggish start with players who shouldn’t even be selected (Henderson) chugging along. A couple of scares on the break but mostly frustratingly knocking the ball about on the edge of the double parked bus. 0-0 or 1-0 half time. Then as we get to around 60 minutes the Albanians will tire and open up and England complete a comfortable yet underwhelming 3-0 or 4-0 victory.
It’s the basic blueprint for any game like this. There will be endless analysis on how Kane played and the team selection as a whole, whereas in reality Tuchel could have picked any squad he liked with pretty much the same result in such a game.
We’ve all seen this a hundred times before.
