We await JHT for his pre-match thoughts
---------------------------------------------
JHT on Anis Ben Slimane: “Not tomorrow. He will be part of training next week, so hopefully back for Derby.”
JHT on Marcelino Nunez: “If everything goes good, then he will be part of training next week and available for Derby.”
JHT on Gabe Forsyth: “All of us were happy that it didn’t require surgery. You always fear the worst when you see a young player struggling with knee pain. He will need another scan.”
JHT on Tony Springett: “He had surgery on his back and will be out for a while. Maybe until at least the summer. It’s not been a season that he or we hoped for. We will support him. We will give him a fair chance when he’s back.”
*Archie Mair has broken his thumb and has returned to NCFC to have surgery. He is expected to be out for six weeks.*
JHT on team news: “I hope that I will have 11 (players) available for tomorrow. I need to bring a list (of injuries) next time.”
JHT on Borja Sainz: “He's been with the group and in every day. He's been fined by the club and apologised to the group. I know that he's been working on coping with a new role for him as a player and person. He had a couple of days away but he's now performing well.
JHT on Jaden Warner: “Realistically he will go. He needs game time on a senior level and he’s not close enough to this team. I hope he can go out and get experience.”
JHT on Emmanuel Adegboyega: “Both yes and no (part of it next season). We can see what he can do here, but he needed to go out and play on the highest possible level. We need to see if his level is what we need.”
JHT on Matej Jurasek: “They’ve made a schedule for how we can cover this time. We’ve had two guys (performance staff) away with him. He’s been doing really well. That’s the feedback from the coaches that have been with him.”
JHT on Matej Jurasek: “It’s not too early (for Derby game). But maybe too early for a start. He will be part of training next week. It’s not unrealistic that we will give him minutes against Derby.”
JHT on transfer window: “I hope we can do a little bit at the end (of the window). We constantly need to build on the strategy here and use every window. If we can find one or two players and prepare them for when we start pre-season that would be ideal.”
JHT on Emi Marcondes contract: “Yeah. There’s more players than just him we can talk about extending (their contracts). It’s more realistic once the window is closed.”
JHT on Watford: “Not to praise ourselves too much, when I look back at that performance (reverse game) it was really good. We try to do some of the same stuff, but we know it’s not the same line-up available for us.”
JHT on Watford: “I don’t take too much out of it (their form). They are really good at home. They can be intense and play man-to-man. If they play with wingbacks, then we know they will do some crosses that we need to defend well.”
JHT: “It’s a difficult one (against Watford). It’s still the same players available and probably the youngest bench we’ve had yet (for tomorrow). But I want to give young players minutes as they are the future.”
