More like a third 'amber' card isnt it?

They still have the proper red cards for dangerous play. This is for offences that are 'deserves more than just a yellow card, but not quite full red level'.

So if this replaced a red for things like two soft yellows, I think it'd be good.

But you'd still need to keep a red for proper bad play.
