Looking at last season. (actual stats not made up xG)

The first 23 games we scored 41 goals conceded 39 with 1.48 PPG

The last 23 games we scored 38 goals conceded 25 with 1.70 PPG

Yep, we scored less goals on our great run to clinch the playoff spot. (even 25 against isn't top 4 GA)

So far this season after 23 games we scored 39 goals conceded 35 with 1.26 PPG

on pace to concede 70 goals, no team has ever made the playoffs conceding over 67 goals, most are in the 35-60 range.

Is this a formula for success? I guess time will tell.
