Really poor tactics today

Their press has been all over the place. Pressing in ones and twos, nowhere near close enough to their men, players getting themselves totally out of position. Piss poor. If you’re going to press, press. Otherwise low block. This has been neither one thing nor the other.

And their shape has totally failed. All the space in the world down either flank. CBs drawn too wide. FBs too often out of position.

Couple that with the dream team of Godfrey (don’t tell him Pike) and Johnson down the same side, and you get this. Which I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed.
