Hard defeat to take, but this is where we are

Burnley are a good side. Realistically, they just have a better squad than us, man for man. But then it’s a Prem squad mostly, and they have parachute payments so he’s reinforced at a higher pedigree than us.

Easy to say we didn’t play well second half, but they really worked us over, and had quality when it matters. And with a bit of luck we could have taken something.

Final thought on referees. I know I watch game with yellow glasses in, but it really does feel we’re not getting anything like a fair rub of the green, especially in recent weeks. Marginal offsides against, handballs not given. But more generally, it feels refs are only too happy to book our players immediately and for everything, yet I watch opposition players making foul after foul and not getting booked. Loads of fouls in their engine room basically unpunished, so they can keep doing it. I don’t know who we’ve upset in the refereeing group.
