No, we stayed in a great little bar/restaurant just off the main drag

Quality food and beer at reasonable prices.

I've been out in Sachsenhausen before (have a mate living in Frankfurt) - it's better up Bergerstrasse a little further out of the centre.

The Germans are really up for this World Cup - they were worried about the English, but happy to introduce themselves and have a beer and a laugh. There's also loads of Germans employed as FIFA ambassadors who'll swoop on anyone holding a map in their hands and offer assistance.

Only a couple of downers: the ticket distribution is madness - around 40000 England fans in the stadium most of whom presumably paid hundreds of Euros for tickets. The TV coverage is average - replays from fifteen different angles while the match continues or no replays for crucial incidents (like Crouch's booking). Oh, and the insipid England performance.
