popped into a local village convenience store this afternoon for the papers

there was a trainee lady getting trained as a till jockey and the trainer says "no they go under newspapers which is number 4" so she beeps my papers under number 4 and then the trainer woman casually says "oh, if it gets violent outside then there's a panic button under the counter that locks the door". the trainee, a middle aged woman, says "ah good to know thanks".

wtf norfolk, is it routine for s**t to kick off outside a little village shop nowadays?
