Rock music has only been around for 70 years

As a child we always had fireworks and that continued when I had children, but we stopped buying them when we moved from the countryside into a town.
I wouldn’t buy them now for cost but also aware that neighbours have dogs. The organised displays are much better.
What is missing these days are the bonfires, potatoes in foil, that kind of thing. Halloween (which in my opinion is a load of crap…unless you are in the US) has taken over.
