I think I’d rather him than Klopp. Carsley looked a good coach but a little naive on the other aspects of the job. We were never going to get Pep until at least end of this premier league season anyway and so the only other candidate I might have preferred, simply for a subjective point of view as I like him more, would have been Poch.

Dodged the bullets of Howe and Potter, the modern day Steve Bruce and Mark Hughes of managers.

I like Carsely but it did feel like he was thrown to the wolves.
