Declan was a fabulous player...

...before he broke his leg; he was never anything close afterwards (I used to go watch Waikato Utd. back when they were a. good and b. in existance).

Later, he went to Wanderers, my lot. What can I say? The man is a total arse. Even Dash (Darren Fellowes), who was one of his mates said he was f**king weird! He went around to Declan's house once and the walls were covered with "inspirational" slogans, etc.

But not quite as strange as Murray Deaker, I am informed. Murray is a big thick rugby-obsessed talkback host on the local version of Radio 5. Since Sky TV came along, he's got a TV version as well, and his ego has expanded beyond belief. How comforting to hear from Stack, a freelance photographer I know who did a favour for a mate and went round to Deaker's house to do a photoshoot while his mate conducted an interview. Later, needing to use the facilities, he was told "End of the hall, turn right". He did so, and indeed found the john exactly as described. However, to say he found the 5-foot tall framed head-and-shoulders photograph of Mr Deaker on the opposite wall disconcerting would be an understatement!
