I would say that a 4-1 defeat is on the cusp of a thrashing

So, I may not necessarily use it myself, but I don't think I'd have a problem with it.

3-0 definitely isn't a thrashing - it has to be four goals conceded. But obviously 4-2 isn't a thrashing either.

So yeah - 4-1 is borderline for me. Not definitely right or wrong.
