Summed up by Brereton Díaz, on for the second half. I actually quite like him - willing, attacking instincts, can strike a ball nicely. Can imagine he'd be a decent backup for Josh here.
But his basic skill level is *so far short* of what you see when you watch a normal mid-table Premier League game. First touch not good enough, passes slightly mis-timed, head down rather than up. And he was just one of many on that team.
Found watching it slightly sobering tbh. Maybe it was cos I was paying attention but wasn't emotionally engaged at all. But not sure I've ever seen a game where the gap between a team like Soton (and us) and a decent Premier League team is so obvious.
