that based on all the evidence presented in court by the prosecution and defence, that it is the opinion of the jury that the defendent did not commit the offences of which he/she stands accused.

So in the eyes of the law, you are innocent of those charges. The important thing to remember is that it is only the opinion of that jury. Another jury might reach a completely different decision, which is where the main imperfection in the jury system is. In the case of Jackson I think it is fair to say that because of the way jury selection works in the states, that his defence got the jury they wanted and it worked for them.
