What would Gerrard and Lampard have to do in the World Cup to prove that they can play together?

They've scored a goal each in the last 2 warm-up games, would they have to do the same in the group stages? Or is it all about winning the ball in midfield, rather than scoring goals (a la Worthy's mantra)?
