Alongside Koumas we've gone for Republic of Ireland Under-21 international Sean Thornton, released by Championship winners Sunderland. Thornton is a huge gamble. He's got a tarnished reputation and even Mick McCarthy said he couldn't recommend him to anyone. But he's a challenge - and Nigel Worthington is just the sort of bloke to turn him around and make him a quality player.

Yeah right. Worthy is not Sam Allardyce. As soon as he smells trouble he blanks the player and sticks him in the reserves to rot before getting a free.
