Exactly...

'We've been busy in the studio over the last few weeks finishing the extra tracks and versions for the world cup song. Because a lot of people may buy the single who haven't bought an Embrace record before we've tried extra hard to make every track the best it can possibly be.

Love Order
This was written in the sessions in Spain and was going to be held back for the next album. Mick and Richard wrote a brilliant string part for it which Mick conducted. Lots of people think it's one of the best things we've ever done, and it may end up being played live at some point. But the world cup song could be our biggest single ever so we're holding nothing back.

Whatever It Takes
Again from Spain. This just poured out in five minutes. Youth told me to go upstairs and make a cup of tea then when I came down he said "right go in and sing over what the band are doing". I did and in about five minutes we had a finished song. This was going to be the album closer until we decided, "This New Day", was a good name for the album. It reminds me a bit of "The Love It Takes" mixed with Pink Floyd. Again it was going to be held back for the next album but we are planning on going to Spain again and are hopeful that we'll be as inspired the second time around.

What Lies Behind Us
This was recorded in Olympic and is a bit of an epic. It was really difficult to get the vocals right. In that sense it reminds me of "Over" from our third album. It was hard to not get too emotional when singing it. In the end I'm really pleased with it.

The reason we've tried extra hard is because we want to get the single to number one. There I've said it. We're nailing our colours to the mast and putting our heads on the block. Not because of the money but just so we can say we did it. In a world where rehashes and gimmicks dominate, in the hardest week of the year for a real song, wouldn't it be amazing.' Danny Mac.
