yes, it does matter. It shows a lack of intellect. It's also counter-intuitive to read, making it slightly harder to follow what you're writing and so weakening the force of your arguments.

But if you don't mind that, then no, I suppose it doesn't matter. If you're too proud to take on board well-intentioned constructive criticism, that's your problem.
