Gerrard and Lampard in the middle, England know every tiny detail about this formation, its the one that has been their downfall at major tournaments, why was it being used again today when the holding formation could have been given another 90 minutes

What could have been a useful exercise was a massaging of premiership players egos, nothing about Jamaica was a threat

The only good thing that came out of it is more praise for Crouch which he needs, and as stated below, Owen got 90 minutes in

Barring that, the whole thing was a complete waste

No doubt this result will be used as a properganda exercise in the papers and by fans to make out England have a chance of winning it. Even the BBC are banding around about its 6 wins in a row, conveniently erasing the Belarus from the form (Although I saw more positives learnt in the Belarus and the Hungary than I saw today)
