You are right there will always be tight calls, but I think if that was on the 'back' foot

It wouldn't feel so bad.

At the moment players are penalised for being a couple of inches ahead, which was never the point of the original law.

If they can be ahead as long as part is level, it'll feel less harsh when a tight decision marks them off and rules it out I think.

Maybe.

Forget the actual letter, I doubt many football fans agree that that goal being ruled out feets the spirit of the game, or is what we want to see.
