Back of fag packet Play off analysis from a non-smoker…We probably only need one more draw

Rationale:
Top Four teams are those is situ with remote possibility of Southampton being replaced by WBA who have to win all three games whilst Southampton don’t get a point in five.

No team below PNE can reach play offs – Theoretically it is two from six and ignoring WBA we only have to be better than one of the other four.

All others in mix for PO have to play at least one of the current top four.

Whilst Hull could get 77 they play Scum and Cov so need to win at least one of these and both others to get 74 points.

Coventry have five definite games in three weeks – those with long memories will know that they have achieved something similar in the past but their max is 75 and need to beat Hull and Scum for this.

PNE have three of current top 5 with max of 75 points so effectively out of race with probable max of 72

Middlesbrough have max of 72 but play Leeds.

Coventry/Hull game on 24th is key game with draw best result for us.

Oddly those idiots down the road will probably ensure our place by beating Hull and Coventry!

One point from nine should see us home but three will be almost certain.
