FWIW don't get caught up in the stat minutia.
There are stats that have strong correlations to relative strength vs another team and others that mean little.
Most stats guys don't understand this.
If they did they would be rich.

An example is overall possession.
Means little if it happens mainly in your own half.
We had 69% vs Plymouth and lost 6-2 because we were smashed on the counter.
