not just birds though is it

native species make up the majority of the birds preyed upon by domestic cats. On average, only 33% of bird prey items identified to species were non-native species in 10 studies with 438 specimens of 58 species. 75–100% of mammalian prey were native mice, shrews, voles, squirrels and rabbits. it is that free-ranging domestic cats kill 1.3–4.0 billion birds and 6.3–22.3 billion small mammals annually.
