I am very disappointed there has been no word from the club

We have a duty of care to our players. There should be no considerations about throwing Webber under the bus, he’s said what he’s said and it was appalling and our young talent needs to know whose side the club is on.

We’re a very progressive club and have shown class in a number of areas: that mental health video, sending the ex-Ipswich player best wishes after awful illness, long term inclusion of various local communities (even when it wasn’t the done thing) and so on. Saying nothing on this is simply not tenable and flies in the face of who we are.

We are glad we’re not owned by a sportswashing entity because we’re a community club and we’d rather have our integrity than squillions from people whose values don’t align with our own. I’m very strongly all for all of that. It’s true that Webber gets more s**t than he deserves for the years of his tenure, but he said what he said and he absolutely deserves all the consequences which flow from it. It doesn’t align with our values or our identity or what we’ve done for the last several decades and I don’t understand why we haven’t at least said that much. I’d prefer us to say much more. An apology and retraction from Stuart would be nice too but we need to act, now, as a club.

Sorry to sit on the fence so.
