There's a lot of sense in what you're saying and I agree with most of it

It's worth thinking about why he's not 'liked' though, to use your phrase. It's almost entirely down to the catastrophic run of results earlier this season, nothing else. Very very few managers survive that kind of run - is that to our clubs credit or not, I don't know. Time alone will write that review, at the moment it looks like a good decision.

But you're right, what he does from know will be rightly or wrongly judged on that period. And it'll still take longer to win more around.
