there is no world occupied by humans with even a basic understanding of words and football in which what sainz did was "excessive force or brutality" (in which phrase one might reasonably think that the meaning of "excessive force" takes some sense from the word "brutality" - it's not very likely to mean "almost no contact at all and virtually no force ... or of course, in case I forgot to mention it, brutality")

Howson wasn't trying to get him sent off I think - he was trying to get himself not sent off
