Alternative point of view

We were successful at times under Farke in the PL in that first season. We beat Man City (and it wasn’t a fluke, we deserved that win), thrashed Newcastle, came close against Chelsea, who were better then than now, gave Liverpool a decent game first up; then in the Autumn lost several important players to injury, lost momentum and then just as we were regaining that impetus lockdown happened. The second season was entirely lost from the moment we sold Buendía and tried to replace him and our style with poorly recruited players without the opportunity to bed in and accustom themselves and maintain continuity. Arguably the best thing would have been to have sold Emi in the January before with the January excess, and buy more defenders rather than Normann, Sargent etc. (And I’m a big fan of Sargent now he’s had time to bed in).
