it's not that the fans have changed, society has changed massively since about 2015

you can now call out people anonymously for perceived microaggressions in many workplaces which destroys the very thing it was set up to do. it pits people against each other and inevitably deepens one side against the other so instead of having grown-up discourse people are simply cancelled or lose their job over something that needed to be discussed to bring about real positive change for the benefit of all. also, social media bowled up and threw a grenade into pretty much every walk of life and that genie is never going back into the bottle. there is no middle ground any more just look at politics, if that's your thing, it's one side or the other and whatever side you are on then everything on the other side does is bang wrong.

the go to stance for protest is now just to disrupt everyones life to get your message across. "f**k everyone else my thing is the only thing".

lastly, we live in a time when you really can have pretty much anything you want 24/7. you can get fast food delivered to your face, instant gratification with no calories burnt going to the burger shop. tescos now offer a 30 minute delivery service in some places, you don't even need to walk to your car. people are f**king lazy, selfish and can't be f**ked any more and yes that's me over generalising but that's where western society has shifted to. apart from that everything's perfectly fine.
