wembley is reliant on prestige events for paying off the money they owe and they are committed to the fac final and semi finals, so they stand no chance of going to another venue, ditto england internationals unless they are tinpot friendlies. i think that's his angle to use "the north" as a way of getting a free stadium much like man city got a budget one on the back of the commonwealth games. economy has changed a bit since then though. plus the transport links up north are s**te. i suppose he could bribe the govt with mahussive party donations though. ooh look, man utd got a free stadium how marvelous says everyone up north, thank f**k we didn't waste money on better schools and hospitals.
