The problem is how you define 'comfortable'

Some people who have been used to a new car every two years and 3 or 4 foreign holidays per year etc is going to have a very different outlook on what is essential compared to someone who has had a much more modest income. The state pension is a one size fits all arrangement, and thus , discounts like the NCFC scheme by definition are similar.
