holding midfielder isn't a very glamourous position, and it's hard to catch the eye. And, as regular readers of this site will know, I'm not that keen on Carrick either.
The media love bigging him up and giving a bit of a false impression. I remember the Uruguay friendly recently when Carrick played and I watched amazed as half oh his passes were sh*t beyond belief and went stright to the opposition, then at half time the BBC pundits said how great he'd been and showed ONLY the passes he got right (pretending the other sdidn't happen because that didn't suit the point they'd decided to make before the game started). But a lot of people watching would have believed them.
Carrick is probably the best of a bad bunch in Parker's absence, but let's not pretend he's anything other than a perpetual mediocrity.
