… as it leaves his ability completely exposed.

He gets the luxury of playing in a side that is fundamentally better than its opponents every week of the season, except perhaps against rangers, but even then Celtic have dominated that rivalry for a while. He also has the luxury of playing with decent players around him.

The penalties last night showed that he has the balls for the task, the only question is his ability. Playing at Celtic, there is no hiding place for ability because goals and assists are there on a plate for anyone that is good enough given the poor opposition. If he doesn’t deliver there, there is no excuse - it can’t be that he didn’t get chances to score, or chances to set up goals, because both are guaranteed to be available. It’s all on him.
