I have mixed feelings about him. I really wish he could be great for us

and I've always been prepared to cut him some slack.

He definitely should have gone out on loan before and we may have missed opportunities to help his development.

But I simply won't have it that this is on Knapper and Wagner. For all the latter's flaws, this is not his fault.
