According to one of the comments....

Curried bratwurst was invented by an enterprising German woman in the early days after WWII.
There were Indian troops stationed in the British zone who had curry with them.
Sausage meat was very poor quality at the time and she added the curry to the sausages to add a bit of much needed flavour.
It was a huge success for the hungry German survivors and the rest is history as they say.

May not be true but hope it is, nice story in a way.
