I was young then, full of optimism - drove all the way to Manchester in my Escort Mark 1 convinced that year we were going to Wembley. Instead Man C went there. And as for the old Maine Rd ground in Hulme.... What a dump in a very dodgy area. If you ever went there you will know what I mean.
