I don't accept that we can't get a suitable replacement until the summer in any event, but if that were to be the case, the most damaging thing is just to allow this to limp on with Knapper appearing ineffective, the impression being given still that the fans are being ignored and the atmosphere getting worse and worse. If we have to have a caretaker then so be it, provided they are not completely useless they will be no worse than Wagner and fans will get on board with it if they know its a first step in the road to recovery/change.

There is no world where Wagner turns this around and proves he is the best long term option for the job. There might have been 2 months ago but the fact he is still making the same errors and there remain the same flaws in our game show quite starkly that he simply is not up to the job and never really was.
