Depends what she wants it for. If just notifications a cheap one will do. If health then

a better quality one advised. The fitbits are fine and not expensive.

If she wants more advanced measurements it might cost more.

I wouldn’t worry about appearance. I’ve yet to see a smart watch that looks good as a watch
