Despite being quite happy with life at Norwich, 25 year old Welsh international striker Robert Earnshaw is likely to return to the Premiership this summer with Sheffield United and Watford interested in his services. Both clubs are willing to pay ?4.5 million for the striker that Norwich paid ?3.5 million for just 6 months ago. It is Watford who are likely to get the striker however as they are prepared to offer ?4.2 million + their 21 year old French striker Hameur Bouzazza.
Earnshaw will lead Watford's attack next season with Marlon King and will definitely be Watford's most expensive signing as Boothroyd wants to stick to much of his current squad.
Boothroyd hopes to tie up a loan deal for Man U keeper Ben Foster who is on England standby. 1 left-back will come in and that will be Steven Warnock on loan from Liverpool and a right-back or centre-back could come in. Mario Melchiot is available and could come in at right-back.
Doyley and Mackay and Stewart will challenge for places as Zak Whitbread could also come in from Liverpool for ?500,000. IF Earnshaw doesn't move there could be a return for Heidar Helguson for a cheaper ?1.5 million.
